Genesis
Schools was formed by a group of concerned parents and members of
Tonganoxie Christian Church who wanted their children to receive a
top-notch education based on the fundamentals of the Christian
faith. This group proposed the school to the Tonganoxie
Christian Church Board of Elders and received approval to form the
school in 1993.
The original Board of Trustees laid the foundation that we have
today and began holding classes at the church. Through growth
in the school and in the church, Tonganoxie Christian Church (TCC)
built the Family Life Center which the school currently occupies.
The TCC Family Life Center serves a plethora of purposes for
ministry. It not only is used by the school but also for
weekly Sunday School, Adult Bible Fellowship classes, weekly Bible
Studies, public basketball, and as a benefit to the community.
The Administrators of Genesis Christian Schools have been Kent
Weatherby and Shelly Gossett. The position is currently held
by Kathie Clarke.
The general operation of the school is governed by the
Corporate Bylaws. In addition, an operational
Policy and Procedure serves the purpose of providing clear
guidance on day-to-day matters. Both documents are subject to
periodic reviews and revised as deemed necessary by the Board of
Trustees.
